MVI was instrumental in developing PHP software for shopping carts over the past 10+ years. Many of the features that we developed in 1999 are used in the Open Source online store software. Our designs were feature rich shopping cart functionality that allowed store owners to setup, run, and maintain their online stores with minimum effort and with limited costs.

One of those open source products, "osCommerce" was a pet project of the MVI staff in the early 2000 - 2003. The MVI staff devoted hundreds of development hours to help create this software which has now become very popular. Because of our familiarity wit this software we utilize this software for many of our low priced shopping carts. Since early 2000 OS has attracted the largest community for any e-commerce solution, consisting of over 150,000 store owners and developers worldwide. To date there are over 3,600 add-ons available that have been created by the community to extend the features of the software.

This solution provides a e-commerce platform, which includes the powerful PHP web scripting language and the fast MySQL database server. With no special requirements, osCommerce is able to run on any PHP 4.1+ enabled web server running on Linux, Solaris, BSD, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows environments.

With over 6 years of operation, osCommerce has built a showcase of over 20,800 online shops that power many thousands of online businesses.

Because of our relationship and knowledge of osCommerce we utilize this software, customize this software and integrate this software into hundreds of online stores. This e-commerce solution offers a wide range of out-of-the-box features that allows online stores to be setup fairly quickly, and is available under the GNU General Public License.

Today, MVI has taken online stores to the next level, moving towards an e-commerce framework solution that not only remains easy to setup and maintain, but also making it easier for store administrators to present their stores to their customers with their own unique requirements.
